The four corners of Bowie

This was a painting project for my second semester paint class. The object was to have four sections.
1. palet knife
2. black and white
3. extreme color
4. mimic a famous artist

top left, black and white.... top right, extreme color (also done in palet knife)... bottom right, van gough-ish.... bottom left, palet knife (in extreme color as well)

despite how cool I think this painting came out I didn't get a very good mark on it because I didn't stick to the grid that the professor wanted. She wanted the lines to be distinct and I wanted to blend all the sections together.... don't even get me started on the irony of grading a piece of art. I find it stupid. Art should not be graded or subjected to a system, it is what it is.
